Growing up, I tried a lot of different sports, the one that stuck before CrossFit, was distance running. I ran 2 half marathons, the best was 1 hour and 34 minutes. I then sustained a stress fracture and found CrossFit because I couldn’t run for some time. It turned out to be a defining factor in my life. Since 2013, I have jumped head first into CrossFit, first as an athlete, then as a coach and general manager. I enjoy working out by myself or with others, especially in the CrossFit community. I try to learn as much as possible about health, fitness, and longevity. The best aspect of coaching is empowering others to achieve goals and live a happy and healthy life consistently.
Looking back, I was stuck in the thought process that skinny was desirable. I ran too much and did not fuel myself properly. I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my foot and was advised not to run. I found CrossFit through a friend and it changed my life forever. I gained muscle, friends, and self-confidence. Without the CrossFit community, I would probably still be battling a myriad of physical and mental health issues.
I want to help show others that fitness is the single most accessible thing anyone can do to improve not only their physical self but their mental and emotional self as well. I am impassioned to serve the general population, moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, etc. that might think fitness is out of their reach or not have the time. I also love to coach the young athlete, that would benefit greatly from proper strength and conditioning.
We understand how intimidating it can be to get started on a new fitness journey. But don't worry! We were all once the "new person." It's a scary thing- we get it. But at WCF, we foster a community that is inclusive, compassionate, and empowering. You will never feel alone.
All of our trainers have (at least) an up-to-date CrossFit Level 1 Certificate. We require every coach to go through our thorough on-boarding program and demonstrate proficiency in their craft before ever taking the floor.
